Where others might gravitate towards bright shadows and neon nails, nothing screams summer to me quite like a youthful glow and a rosy lip; so thats exactly what I slapped and smeared all over my best friend Dannell’s face! Ha! Ha! Ha! The focus was completely on the skin; we set out to even out any discoloration and uneven-ness while still maintaining a natural finish. Primarily we used correctors before applying foundation to keep every product applied as shear as possible, cause as we all know no one likes to feel like their wearing mud on their face during these hot, humid months!
Powder was avoided as much as possible, which seems counter-intuitive when you’re goal is to achieve a long lasting look, but to compensate for this we used a long-lasting and waterproof base that set to a powdery finish. Once everything set there was no real need for powder; all it would have done was create a cake-y, over-applied finish that would have completely over powered the look
.
OCC’s Lip Tar in Pretty Boy provided a dewy, long-lasting stain on the cheeks and the Sonia Kashuk liquid highlighter was used for a golden highlight in all the high points of the face. For a cohesion, we used the same lip tar sheerly on the lips!
A bit of glitter and mascara was all that was needed on the eyes to finish the look. The sparkle was very beautiful in person and natural light; it was not garish or childish in the slightest because of how dispersed it was in application. With the mascara, we used a light hand and didn’t try to provide an artificial amount of length. We primarily focused on thickening up the lash root and combed out any clumps. I feel it kept the look much for fashion-forward and gave a much more youthful appearance.
This was Dannell before her transformation; caught off guard and loving it! Ha! Ha! Ha!
